FCBI is pleased to announce the board approval, name change, and establishment of the FCBI Jerry Livingston Memorial Scholarship, in honor of our friend and colleague, Jerry Livingston, who passed away in 2023. The first recipient under the banner of this dedicated scholarship is a deserving student named Trevor Breedlove.
Trevor’s journey is one of resilience, ambition, and the unwavering support of a community that believes in his potential. His father, a dedicated detective with Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, tragically passed away due to COVID-19 symptoms contracted on the job. This loss was a profound blow, but it also became a source of strength and motivation for Trevor.
Trevor is a well-spoken young man with a remarkable work ethic. He is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting Technology at the College of Central Florida, formerly known as CFCC. His preference for numbers over words is evident in his academic and professional pursuits. Balancing his studies with work, Trevor is employed at R+L Global Logistics, adjusting his schedule to accommodate his academic commitments.
The Kids’ Chance of Florida (KCFL) Scholarship has been a pivotal factor in Trevor’s educational journey. This scholarship has had a “tremendous” impact on his ability to pursue his degree with minimal financial burden. Trevor is grateful for the support system around him, including his boss, his mother’s best friend who informed him about the KCFL scholarship, his roommate, and his family members. This network of support has been instrumental in helping him navigate the challenges and opportunities that come his way.
Outside of his academic and professional life, Trevor has a range of interests that keep him engaged and inspired. He enjoys gaming, superheroes film genre, Star Wars, and war-time strategies. These hobbies provide a balance to his rigorous academic and work schedule, allowing him to unwind and explore different facets of his personality.
Trevor’s story is a testament to the power of community support and personal determination. Despite the challenges he has faced, he continues to strive for excellence in his studies and work, embodying the spirit of resilience and ambition. The Kids’ Chance of Florida Scholarship has not only eased his financial hardship but also connected him with a community that is invested in his success. Trevor’s journey is far from over, and with his dedication and the support of those around him, his future looks bright.
Thank you to all who continue to support our efforts to raise money each year for this important organization and cause. Our 2024 Silent Auction has closed and we are very pleased to soon be presenting this year’s check to Kids’ Chance of Florida. Stay tuned!
